Iowa's hospitals need
health care professionals.
That is why they are supporting the Iowa Hospital Education and Research Foundation Health Care Careers Scholarship Fund to help Iowans who want to be the future of health care. This scholarship program offers students as much as $3,000 per academic year, or a maximum of $6,000 over two years.
In exchange for that financial support, scholarship-winning students agree to work in an Iowa hospital for one year for each year they receive an award. |
Scholarship Application
To be eligible for the scholarship, you must:
Be enrolled in an accredited health care education program listed on the application.
Be within two years of completing your education.
Work for an Iowa hospital (one year per scholarship awarded).

In May 2011, IHA's Iowa Hospital Education and Research Foundation (IHERF) awarded $99,000 in scholarships to 33 college students from all parts of Iowa. The students, who are all studying in health care fields, each received $3,000 for the upcoming academic year and each is eligible for up to $6,000 in total assistance from IHERF over two years.
In 2011, Iowa hospital auxilians and volunteers have donated almost $11,000 to IHERF Scholarship and $65,000 since its inception. Click here for a donation form to support this scholarship.

Several of 2011’s 33 recipients joined IHERF Board Chair Clint Christianson for the IHERF Swinging for Scholars event. The 2012 event will be held July 12.
