Iowa Society for Healthcare Engineering (ISHE)
The Iowa Society for Healthcare Engineering is organized for educational purposes and is an individual membership organization affiliated with the Iowa Hospital Association.
The organization’s objectives are to promote quality patient care through improved engineering practices.
 Encourage members to develop in their knowledge of hospital engineering.
Promote the improvement of health care services by assisting members to exchange ideas as they relate to hospital engineering.
Conduct regular meetings, conferences and education programs.
Encourage membership involvement and support in national organizations.
Offer comment on proposed rules and regulations affecting the hospital engineering field.

Membership in the society is available to individuals who are active in the field of hospital engineering and related disciplines with administrative or supervisory responsibility and who are employed in an Iowa Hospital Association member hospital. Hospital engineering is defined as both an art and a science of efficiently planning, managing and maintaining the physical environment, equipment and telecommunications systems for health care. Members at this level will not be compensated for services rendered on behalf of ISHE.

Associate membership in this Society includes persons who are actively engaged in actual performance of engineering duties in or for a health care facility. They are not be eligible to vote or hold office. Members at this level will not be compensated for services rendered on behalf of ISHE.
